5 Creative Activities To Do When You’re Short On Time

Making time for some creative self-care can feel like a real challenge.

Especially when we feel like we haven’t got time. But it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Here are my top 5 favourite creative activities that I turn to when I’m in a rush but want to take some creative self-care time out for me or when I need a bit of a break.

1 - Doodling. Please note you do not have to be good at drawing to do this one! I definitely am not conventionally good at drawing (we talk kindly about ourselves here, even when we think we “can’t” do something!), but find it quite relaxing

2 - Go for a walk somewhere new. Bonus points for not taking your phone or headphones.

3 - Reading. This is one of my favourites because all you need for this one is a book. I’m sure I’m not the only one that always wants to read more, but end up picking my phone up instead. I set myself the goal of reading 50 books this year, and it’s going pretty well so far!

4 - Turn your phone off and do nothing. The hardest activity I’ve listed here, to be honest! I think generally we need more time doing nothing, it’s incredibly good for us.

5 - Journaling. Journaling doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated. I’ve even got a Journaling for Creativity workshop and workbook to help you along with the process.

Which is your favourite? Do you have any fun creative activities that you do when you’re up against it, timewise?

If you try any of these, let me know how you get on, I’d love to know!
